A keystone enabling technology for Canadian Digital Government is Identity.
Bluink is a great example vendor, who recently extended its reach to another Canadian province.
The company’s eID-Me smartphone app is now available in British Columbia, where it is compatible with the province’s BC Services Card, BC Driver’s License, and the combined BC Driver’s License and Services Card.
eID-Me now offers support for nine identity documents.
A valid Canadian passport and the province’s driver’s license or photo card with an address on it will be necessary when registering for the service.
Biometric facial recognition technology is used to compare the ID document photo against a selfie and for likeness checking.
